The shoe maker used this description to explain the concept behind their shoes: "Sabots are wooden shoes. People all over the world have been wearing them in one form or another for over a thousand years. We shape our Sabots like modern sculpture, cantilevered to make you look like you are about to take off. Each Sabot is individually cut out of Mountain Pine, reinforced with hardwood strips, (the stripe running through the bottom) then dipped in fine aniline dye and coated with clear Egyptian Lacquer to seal in the colors. You can wear Sabots in really cold weather with striped or colored wool socks and panty hose. Both create happy graphic effects. Experiment with different looks- like fake tattoos. Just have a good time- that's what we had in mind for you."
